Job Description

Here at Langdons, we have an amazing opportunity for a Workshop Technician to join the team based in Motherwell. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday Days and in return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of £45,225.11 per annum plus excellent company benefits!

Job Responsibility

  • Ensuring vehicles are repaired and maintained in accordance with prescribed standards
  • Preparing and presenting vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections
  • Diagnosing vehicle-related defects using available diagnostic equipment and arrange for relevant action to be taken
  • Liaising with vehicle manufacturers regarding acquiring of parts and replacement vehicles, keeping key colleagues informed of progress where necessary
  • Ensuring high levels of safety and cleanliness at all times and that required house-keeping duties meet required standards
  • Updating and maintaining appropriate records and ensuring all relevant information is shared with relevant departments on a timely basis
  • Ensures the company fleet is effectively serviced and repaired on a cost-effective and timely basis within company and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Qualified to Level 3 or equivalent in HGV/LGV maintenance and repair
  • Experienced in using transport repair tools and associated software
  • Experienced in following established procedures and problem-solving and/or making sound judgements where not all information is available
  • Ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
  • Ability to use initiative and organise their work so that key tasks can be completed fully and on time
  • Ability to work to fluid targets and deadlines
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven arithmetic skills
