An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated, experienced and capable Operations Coordinator to join our clients' workshop, that specialises in mining mechanical fabrication projects. This position is based in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, on a monday to friday work week. The focus of the role will be to provide workshop operational leadership, including planning, production scheduling, resource allocation, equipment management and continuous improvement. The Operations Coordinator will work closely with workshop staff, engineering personnel, management and external stakeholders to ensure operational targets and projects are delivered on time and safely. A mechanical engineering background is preferred to support technical decision making, problem solving and the optimisation of workshop processes and equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure daily workshop operations are carried out efficiently and safely
Plan, schedule, coordinate, communicate, monitor and track workshop activities including fabrication, mechanical works, repairs and maintenance
Allocation of labour, equipment and resources
Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions
Ensure workshop activities meet company quality standards and specifications
Oversee maintenance of plant, machinery and workshop equipment
Ensure materials, parts and consumables are available to meet operational requirements
Provide technical guidance and support to workshop staff
Review technical drawings, specifications and job requirements where necessary
Support troubleshooting and problem solving for complex mechanical or operational issues
Contribute to process improvements and engineering solutions
Promote a strong safety culture within the workshop environment
Assist with workforce planning, recruitment and onboarding of workshop personnel
Liaise with management regarding operational performance and resource requirements
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience in an operational, workshop or production leadership role
Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant background would be highly regarded
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, workshop operations and production processes is essential
Demonstrated team leadership capability
Strong organisational and problem solving skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet operational deadlines
Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety obligations in a workshop environment
Professional, reliable and accountable with developed leadership skills and the ability to motivate, guide and support teams
Practical and solutions focused with the ability to resolve operational and technical issues efficiently
Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship and operational standards
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders
Strong commitment to workplace safety and promoting a positive safety culture
Nice to have:
Preference will be given to those with mining or other heavy industry mechanical fabrication experience
