Job Description:

Renault Trucks Essex is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to manage a large workshop of technicians. The core role is to proactively manage the customers’ journey, ensuring work is completed to time and quality standards, managing profitability and productivity, and leading the team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Proactively manage the customers’ journey from planning, arrival, quality of work through to Invoice / Claim closure
  • Ensure service and repair work is completed to time and quality standards
  • Ensure all invoice / claim documents are complete and accurate
  • Manage customer expectations, job profitability and workshop productivity targets
  • Motivate, develop and performance manage the team
  • Deal with employee issues on a day to day basis

Requirements:

  • HGV workshop experience at supervisor or above level
  • Employee (Technician) management / supervisory skills and experience
  • Identifying employee ongoing training needs
  • Reporting workshop KPI’s
  • Budgeting and planning of workshop productivity / efficiency
  • Customer facing experience with the ability to problem solve
  • Ideally a level 3 HGV Technician qualification

  • Verbal explanation of the repair procedure and process to the workshop and customers and variable levels of understanding
  • Implement the use of workshop equipment when allocating tasks
  • Ability to value a vehicle at a market value in order to determine the repairable economics of a damaged vehicle
