Job Description:

A rewarding opportunity to be involved in a Dementia Centre initiative looking to support people living with dementia who are transitioning from hospital settings back to their homes or into residential care. The Workshop Facilitator will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of care provided to individuals with dementia by focusing on capability and capacity building. This position involves designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programmes and training initiatives for staff, caregivers, and other stakeholders involved in dementia care.

Requirements:

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
  • A minimum of two years demonstrated experience in the delivery of programmes in a face-to-face setting and online
  • Proven experience in training and education, ideally within a health care or residential care setting
  • Dynamic personality with the ability to engage audiences quickly with strong rapport building skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong learning agility
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with training technologies and software
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Current Australian driver’s licence with safe driving record and willingness to travel intra and interstate

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of dementia care principles, person-centered care, and relationship based approaches
  • Certification or specialised training in dementia care or gerontology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health/Allied Health & Education
