Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or Senior Technician (commercial or automotive)
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good IT skills and familiarity with workshop management systems
A full UK driving licence

Job Responsibility

Plan, control, and coordinate workshop activity to ensure maximum productivity
Allocate work to technicians based on skills and availability
Monitor job progress and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
Liaise with Service Advisors to provide accurate updates to customers
Ensure health & safety and manufacturer standards are adhered to at all times
Support and motivate the workshop team, addressing issues proactively
Contribute to achieving site KPIs and financial targets

Requirements

Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Technician, or similar supervisory role in a commercial vehicle or HGV environment
A working technical understanding of vehicles in order to clearly explain repairs or additional repairs to customers
Customer service skills, including dealing with difficult situations and an ability to up-sell our services and products where appropriate
Strong IT skills
Awareness of warranty guidelines, service intervals, etc.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Be flexible, energised and a team player

Job Responsibility

Allocate work to technicians in line with skill set and job priority
Monitor job progress and ensure timely completion
Ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency across the workshop
Liaise with service advisors and parts department to ensure seamless workflow
Maintain accurate job cards and records through our internal systems
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide support/training to workshop staff
Ensure all health & safety standards and manufacturer guidelines are followed

Verbal explanation of the repair procedure and process to the workshop and customers and variable levels of understanding

Ability to value a vehicle at a market value in order to determine the repairable economics of a damaged vehicle
