Workshop Controller

• Control and coordinate the day‑to‑day workflow of a high‑volume van workshop
• Ensure all customer information is obtained and stored and parts ready to allocate work effectively to the Workshop Supervisor to maximise productivity
• Ensure the day’s workload is completed efficiently, with all statutory and vehicle checks completed before shift end
• Obtain and verify customer pre‑authorisation for all work prior to commencement
• Secure additional repair authorisation where required during the service process
• Liaise directly with customers regarding vehicle issues, progress updates and repair timelines
• Carry out quality checks on completed work to ensure standards are met
• Ensure cash‑sale vehicles are not released without full payment
• Drive workshop profitability through effective time management, cost control and upselling opportunities
• Work closely with the service advisors and parts department to support operational efficiency
• Ensure strict compliance with all Health & Safety procedures at all times
• Support the training, coaching and development of workshop staff
• Maintain high administrative accuracy to avoid invoice queries and rework

• Previous experience within the motor industry is essential
• Experience in a busy commercial vehicle or van workshop preferred
• Proven background delivering excellent customer service and administration
• Experience with Stellantis products an advantage
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
• Calm, professional and solutions‑focused approach with the ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills across customers and internal teams
• Strong organisational and planning ability in a fast‑paced environment
• Proactive problem‑solver with the ability to anticipate challenges
• High attention to detail with a responsive yet structured working style
• Confident IT skills and workshop systems experience
• Relevant vehicle service and management qualifications
