To control and coordinate all workshop activities within the accident repair centre’s day-to-day operation. Responsible for managing workflow, allocating repair tasks efficiently according to an individual’s evidenced compliant competence in date achievements, monitoring productivity and quality, and ensuring all repairs are completed in line with manufacturer methods, company standards, and planned repair schedules. The role ensures maximum efficiency, high-quality output, and compliance with all health, safety, and industry regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and coordinate all workshop repair processes, maintaining full visibility of each job’s progress from strip-down to final quality control
Allocate work to technicians based on skill set, experience, workload, and job priority to ensure efficient throughput and productivity
Lead and participate in daily production meetings, reviewing job status, addressing delays, and reporting issues to the General Manager where necessary
Monitor repair quality to ensure all work is carried out in line with manufacturer repair methods, BS10125:2022 standards, and internal quality procedures
Ensure all repair documentation, job cards, and digital management systems are updated accurately and in a timely manner
Identify and resolve workflow, technical, or resource issues quickly to prevent delays and maintain operational efficiency
Liaise closely with the VDA and Customer Service teams to ensure parts availability, accurate repair planning, and clear communication on job progress
Maintain workshop discipline, productivity levels, and professional standards across all production staff
Ensure apprentices are working in their correct area and level of expected learning under the supervision of their qualified Mentor/Supervisor
Ensure all workshop tools, equipment, and machinery are maintained in good working order and compliant with safety requirements
Oversee housekeeping standards, waste disposal, environmental compliance, and safe working practices across the site
Take responsibility for maintaining a safe, secure, and well-organised working environment in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies
Support the development and training of workshop staff, promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in vehicle accident repairs
