Job Description:

As a WHS Advisor, you will be the key connection between our safety strategy and frontline operations. You’ll provide practical WHS guidance, support and mentoring to our sites, helping leaders and teams build capability, manage risks, and foster a proactive safety culture. Your contribution will directly support the safety and wellbeing of our people and the people we support.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide day-to-day WHS advice and support to Site Managers, Supervisors and team members
  • Conduct draft risk assessments, inspections and site audits in collaboration with site personnel
  • Lead hazard identification, incident reporting and follow-through on corrective actions
  • Assist with incident investigations, including supporting WHS Specialists with root-cause analysis
  • Maintain and update WHS documentation, emergency plans and Fire Safety Advisor requirements
  • Deliver toolbox talks, WHS awareness activities and contribute to training delivery
  • Support the development of WHS policies, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare WHS data, reports and insights to support decision-making and proactive safety actions
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulators

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a WHS Advisor or in a similar WHS role
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or relevant discipline)
  • Fire Safety Advisor qualification (Qld requirement) or willing to complete
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, hazard identification and risk management
  • Experience in incident investigation and root-cause methodologies (e.g., ICAM/Taproot desirable)
  • Experience conducting internal inspections, audits and workplace investigations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions
  • High-level Microsoft Office skills and confidence preparing WHS documentation and reports
  • Ability to build rapport across all levels and communicate clearly in written and verbal formats
  • Current Driver’s Licence and ability to travel regularly to sites
  • Undertake a "Fit2Work" National Criminal History Check
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check
