Job Description:

In order to support ZEROe Research & Technology (RnT) department, Airbus Operations is looking for a Working Student in Structure Design & Manufacturing (d/f/m). You are a full time student, looking for a working student position and want to get to know the work of a Composite Design Engineer? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in ZEROe Research & Technology as a working student (d/f/m) with approx. 18 hours a week!

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and design innovative ideas for CFRP structures contributing to the hydrogen aircraft architecture
  • Use 3DEXPERIENCE to create detailed 3D models and assemblies
  • Support the pre-sizing of components. Ideally, perform initial FEM calculations to validate your designs regarding weight and strength
  • Help build the parts. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering colleagues to manufacture and assemble your concepts in the workshop
  • Exchange between design, stress and the manufacturing shop floor, ensuring that what is designed can actually be built

Requirements:

  • Enrolled student in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical degree
  • Basic to advanced knowledge in 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) / Catia V5 is highly desired. If you are proficient in other CAD tools, a strong motivation to learn 3DX quickly is required
  • Basic understanding of FEM (Finite Element Method) and pre-sizing principles is preferred. Motivation to deepen your knowledge in this area is key
  • Understanding of composite materials (CFRP) and mechanical design principles
  • Fluent in English
  • German is a strong plus (especially for communication in the workshop) but not a must
