Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Working Leaderman with at least 5 years of assembly/prefab structural welding/fitting experience. The candidate will direct their workforce in the successful implementation of craft-specific activities as it relates to associated shipbuilding and/or repair functions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the equipment to be used in the welding process
  • Performs tank testing and associated duties as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of assembly/prefab structural welding/fitting experience
  • Prior supervision experience is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of welding/fitting specific processes and techniques
  • Familiar with standard marine practices and general specifications for construction
  • Experience in structural fabrication
  • Ability to read/understand drawings
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with employees
  • Must work well with others
  • Must have the ability to plan/schedule craft-specific work tasks
  • Must have a strong focus on quality, production, safety, and environmental aspects of work being performed
