Minimum of 5 years of assembly/prefab structural welding/fitting experience
Prior supervision experience is preferred
Basic knowledge of welding/fitting specific processes and techniques
Familiar with standard marine practices and general specifications for construction

Ability to read/understand drawings
Must be able to communicate effectively with employees
Must work well with others
Must have the ability to plan/schedule craft-specific work tasks
Must have a strong focus on quality, production, safety, and environmental aspects of work being performed

Job Responsibility

Utilizes knowledge of the working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials, including the specifications of the equipment to be used in the welding process

Possesses in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques
Well-organized supervisor with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling
Has good basic knowledge of shipbuilding/repair activities
Familiar with standard marine practice and general specifications for construction
Can perform labor estimates and planning manning schedules
Exhibits high energy levels and maintains a good attitude
Works well with other craft supervisors
Can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and other technical guidance documentation

Directs and coordinates related craft activities
Develops, reviews, and maintains schedules, budgets and other essential records
