We are seeking an experienced and analytical Workforce Planning Specialist at either the APS6 or EL1 equivalent level to join a dynamic team within a federal government commission. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our workforce. You will undertake deep-dive demand and supply analysis, identify critical capabilities, and directly contribute to refreshing a comprehensive Workforce Plan aligned with our strategic funding and future operating model.
Job Responsibility
Undertake workforce demand/supply analysis, capability analysis, and sophisticated workforce modelling
Identify workforce risks, critical dependencies, and translate complex data into evidence-based insights
Lead or contribute to a refreshed, strategy-aligned Workforce Plan
Provide input into future-state operating models, translating structural shifts into practical workforce scenarios
Develop practical workforce planning tools, templates, and monitoring frameworks for ongoing governance
Provide clear, high-quality written briefings and verbal advice to senior leadership
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, analytics, or modelling within a complex organisational environment
Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of converting data into actionable strategic advice
Experience developing robust workforce plans, models, or similar strategic products
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing internal stakeholders and writing executive briefs
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to shifting priorities
Minimum - Bachelors Degree in Human Resources
Nice to have
Previous experience within the Australian Public Service (APS) or broader public sector
Experience supporting service design, organisational change, or operating model redesign initiatives
