A busy insurance defense firm in Baltimore is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to support one of the firm’s partners. This role requires prior experience with the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can step in quickly to provide high-level support.
Job Responsibility:
Support a partner handling primarily Workers’ Compensation defense matters
Prepare and organize exhibits for hearings
Draft correspondence and routine legal documents
File documents through the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission Hub (WC Hub)
E-file through Maryland courts (MDEC)
Assist with filings before the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission
Maintain organized case files and track deadlines
Enter time and assist with billing using the firm’s timekeeping software
Requirements:
Prior experience with Maryland Workers’ Compensation (required)
Insurance defense background strongly preferred
Experience with WC Hub and MDEC strongly preferred
Familiarity with DC and/or Virginia Workers’ Compensation procedures is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently in a high-volume practice
Nice to have:
Familiarity with DC and/or Virginia Workers’ Compensation procedures
