Job Description

A well-established law firm in Coral Gables is seeking an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant with Florida Workers' Compensation experience to support at a fast-paced, fully paperless practice.

Job Responsibility

  • Organize and maintain electronic case files in ImageRight
  • Prepare and file Notices of Appearance
  • Draft and manage discovery, including Requests to Produce and discovery responses
  • Communicate with employers, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel regarding discovery matters
  • Prepare, issue, and follow up on subpoenas for records and trial
  • Calendar and monitor discovery deadlines and follow-up tasks
  • Review, organize, and produce records for opposing counsel
  • Process and track invoices
  • Draft settlement documents and settlement-related correspondence
  • Prepare motions, including Motions to Dismiss, Motions to Compel, and other pleadings for attorney review
  • Review, organize, and upload all e-filings into ImageRight
  • Draft Pretrial Stipulations for attorney review
  • Assist with trial preparation, including Notices of Filing, Notices to Admit Medical Records, amendments to pretrial stipulations, exhibits, and trial materials
  • Track billable time accurately
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support throughout the life of each case

Requirements

  • Prior Florida Workers' Compensation experience required
  • Experience with TrialWorks and/or ImageRight is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Florida court procedures, e-filing, and litigation deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

Experience with TrialWorks and/or ImageRight
