Job Description:

We are seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney licensed in Virginia to join our client’s growing team. Other than court appearances this is a fully remote opportunity. This attorney will manage all aspects of workers’ compensation defense litigation, from case inception through resolution, while maintaining the highest standards of advocacy and client service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Represent clients in hearings before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission and appellate courts
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and appellate briefs
  • Conduct depositions of claimants, medical experts, and other witnesses
  • Develop case strategies and provide timely updates to clients
  • Negotiate settlements and manage litigation costs effectively
  • Collaborate with partners and associates on complex cases

Requirements:

  • Active Virginia Bar license (required)
  • 1-3 years of experience in workers’ compensation defense litigation (will also consider candidates with plaintiff experience)
  • Strong knowledge of Virginia workers’ compensation laws and procedures
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
