Job Description

The Workday Specialized Technical Consultant is a hands‑on individual contributor responsible for advanced configuration, optimization, and technical problem‑solving across Workday Talent & Performance and Core HCM modules. This role partners closely with HR Technology team members and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high‑quality Workday solutions, with a strong focus on configuration excellence, data integrity, and system reliability. This position is ideal for a seasoned Workday practitioner who enjoys deep functional configuration, translating business needs into sustainable technical solutions, and ensuring stability across releases and enhancements.

Job Responsibility

  • Configure and optimize Workday Talent, Performance, and HCM modules to meet evolving business needs while ensuring scalability, security, and system integrity
  • Design and implement complex configuration changes with a strong understanding of upstream and downstream impacts across the Workday ecosystem
  • Serve as a consultative partner to stakeholders, providing guidance on best‑practice configuration and solution design
  • Execute and support quality assurance, unit testing, and regression testing for new functionality and enhancements
  • Ensure all configuration changes comply with established governance, security, and technical standards
  • Support deployment, stabilization, and post‑release activities associated with Workday releases and feature updates
  • Create and maintain clear, detailed technical documentation for configurations, processes, and support procedures
  • Contribute to shared documentation and knowledge resources to enable consistent delivery and cross‑team learning

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of hands‑on experience supporting and configuring Workday, with deep expertise in Talent & Performance, including Skills functionality
  • Proven ability to independently design, implement, and troubleshoot complex Workday configurations
  • Strong understanding of HR talent processes, data structures, and functional dependencies within Workday
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Passion for technical quality, system stability, and continuous improvement

Nice to have

  • Experience with adjacent Workday modules such as Core HCM, Learning, or Reporting
