The Workday Finance Systems Consultant plays a key role in shaping how our financial systems support and enable the business. This role goes beyond day-to-day system administration; it's about partnering with Finance and cross-functional teams to design, challenge, and deliver scalable solutions that grow with the organization. Wilson went live with Workday in 2019 to modernize and streamline core financial processes. As the platform continues to evolve, we are looking for someone who can think strategically about how Workday should be used, advise stakeholders on best practices, and help optimize the system for long-term scalability and efficiency, including a 3-year roadmap that expands the Workday footprint within Finance and beyond. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys consulting with the business, translating complex needs into practical solutions, and influencing how systems and processes mature over time.
Job Responsibility:
Act as a trusted partner to Finance and cross-functional teams, helping them understand what’s possible in Workday and guiding them toward scalable, sustainable solutions
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business needs and translate them into thoughtful system designs that balance functionality, simplicity, and future growth
Own and evolve the Workday Financials roadmap, including the introduction of new modules and capabilities
Continuously assess financial processes and recommend improvements that drive efficiency, accuracy, and better decision making
Support the ongoing health of the Workday Financials platform by resolving issues, improving workflows, and ensuring a positive user experience
Own security configuration for Workday Financials, including managing domains, business processes, and user roles
Partner closely with implementation partners, consultants, and other members of the Workday ecosystem to deliver high quality outcomes
Ensure financial data integrity and support audit ready reporting through strong governance and reconciliation practices
Communicate system changes clearly and effectively, including developing training materials and supporting user adoption
Lead biannual Workday release planning by identifying relevant features, coordinating testing, and enabling the business to take advantage of new functionality
Requirements:
7–10 years of experience working with finance, accounting, ERP platforms, or enterprise systems in a consulting or advisory capacity
5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials in a functional or systems focused role
Strong understanding of financial operations and accounting principles (GAAP and/or IFRS), ideally in a global or multi-entity environment
Proven ability to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical audiences, and to influence without authority
Expertise in key Workday Financials modules and workflows including Financials, Procurement, Planning, Banking, Supplier Management, Billing, Professional Services Automation (Projects), Assets, Accounting Center, Prism, and Payroll
Comfort working with integrations and data flows, with the ability to partner effectively with technical teams (deep technical development is not the focus of this role)
What we offer:
Unlimited paid time off (known as MyTime)
regional holidays
the opportunity to work from home
A comprehensive benefits package based on region that includes medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, and retirement savings
