We are looking for an experienced Workday Business Analyst to support HR technology initiatives for a manufacturing organization in southern Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role partners with HR, IT, and external vendors to turn operational needs into practical system solutions that improve efficiency, reporting, and compliance. The position centers on Workday while also contributing to related HR platforms that support recruiting, learning, timekeeping, and benefits administration. This role requires candidates to be local to the Milwaukee area due to Hybrid onsite expectations. No visa sponsorship is available at this time.
Job Responsibility
Partner with HR teams and technical stakeholders to gather, clarify, and validate business needs across core HR, benefits, compensation, talent, absence, and time tracking functions
Review existing workflows, identify process gaps, and recommend system-driven improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and user experience
Convert business requirements into functional specifications, process maps, user stories, and solution documentation for Workday and connected HR systems
Act as a knowledgeable resource on Workday capabilities, advising stakeholders on configuration options, system constraints, and recommended practices
Coordinate enhancement efforts and issue resolution by working closely with internal system administrators, third-party vendors, and HR partners
Support Workday release activities by assessing upcoming changes, organizing test plans, executing or coordinating testing, and communicating impacts to stakeholders
Lead or contribute to small and mid-sized HR technology projects, managing timelines, scope, deliverables, and cross-functional communication through structured project practices
Create training materials, user guides, and supporting documentation to help teams adopt new processes and use system features effectively
Assist with troubleshooting production issues, maintaining data integrity, and supporting governance activities across HR technology platforms
Requirements
Experience working as a Business Analyst in HR technology environments, with strong hands-on knowledge of Workday
Solid understanding of HR business processes such as core HR, benefits, compensation, talent, leave, and time tracking
Ability to gather requirements, perform gap analysis, and produce clear functional documentation for technical and business audiences
Experience supporting system enhancements, release testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration with external vendors or platform support teams
Proven ability to manage or contribute to multiple projects while balancing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations
Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methods and the ability to facilitate effective communication across cross-functional teams
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a focus on process improvement and operational accuracy
