Job Description

We are seeking a Work Placement Coordinator to join our team. In this role you will support students who are undertaking work experience placement with Health and Social Care. You will liaise with curriculum Area Heads and teachers to ensure students: have sourced a work experience placement, taking direct action in this area also to source placements; are prepared for the placement; attend and progress on placement; complete and review the placement. As a part of the role, students will be visited in the work place while on work experience placement to check on their safety, well-being and progress.

  • Provide flexible administrative support for the Head of Area and staff in the curriculum area e.g. placement newsletters, awards information etc.
  • Complete relevant paperwork pertaining to each work experience placement and relevant student across all campuses as required
  • Meet with learner groups in order to discuss appropriate placements in relation to their course requirements, employer availability and within learner transportation limitations
  • Communicate with and visit learners whilst on placement to check on their safety, well-being and progress and ensure that continued support is provided where required
  • Liaise with employers to understand requirements of the role that learners will be undertaking, to provide information and advice to work experience placement learners to help them maximise the opportunities to develop their employability skills
  • Produce and provide joining instructions for students in preparation for their placements. Communicating with students on the requirements of the role and employers’ expectations
  • Take responsibility for other student preparation and checks for students who require them during work experience placements

Requirements

  • Experience of developing new relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of using database systems
  • Experience of working in a busy team environment, managing conflicting priorities
  • Excellent experience of following policies and procedures to process information and produce documents / materials to a high standard of presentation, accuracy and speed
  • Proven working experience of Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
  • Good standard of general education indicated through good GCSE grades or equivalent including grade C or above in Maths & English
  • Minimum of Level 3 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 3 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent

  • Discharge Planning: The primary role of the Medical Social Worker II for hospital settings is to facilitate the execution of approved and appropriate inpatient discharge plans between facilities or into the community
  • Under general direction of the Continumm of Care Leader and via clear and consistent communication with the onsite care management staff, delivers age-appropriate clinical social work insight and care to members and their caregivers in accordance with agency policy and procedure and state and federal regulations
