Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional for the role of Work Package Leader (WPL). This position is based in Bangalore, Airbus India, and will be part of the Integration Testing & Analysis Department (ITA), which is integrated with the Flight & Integration Tests Centre (1V). It is critical for ensuring the certification and full maturity of new system versions or functionalities. Our activities involve rigorous testing under varied conditions, utilizing a comprehensive range of test means, from system integration test benches to large-scale simulators.
Job Responsibility:
Statement of Work (SOW) Management: Identify, lead, and propose updates to the SOW in collaboration with the Domain Program Leader (DPL), ensuring changes are processed through the relevant Program Change Boards (BCB). Lead impact analysis of design office trades that affect your work package scope
Performance Assurance: Ensure all Program agreed targets and expectations are consistently met in terms of TCQP adhering strictly to the agreed work plan
Deliverables & Reporting: Ensure robust management of deliverables, including defining, steering, and updating milestones. Provide regular, accurate reporting to Management and the DPL on progress and performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and governance frameworks
Budget Management: Responsible for the accurate planning, monitoring, and control of the defined budget perimeter
Activity Supervision: Lead and supervise testing activities for the systems and functions under your responsibility. This includes overseeing the planning of tests conducted on benches and simulators for System Integration Testing and providing crucial support for Certification efforts
Stakeholder Coordination: Efficiently coordinate and prioritize testing with all stakeholders (Design Office, Lab/Flight Test, Customer Support, Program, etc.)
Test Means Management: Define needs for and ensure availability of common integration benches (SIBs, IVP, CGIB, Simulators) by coordinating with the key stakeholders
Subcontractor Oversight: Rigorously follow up and ensure quality and schedule adherence by our subcontractors
Innovation & Best Practices: Drive the adoption of advanced testing methods (e.g., virtual, automated testing). Facilitate the sharing of best practices and lessons learned across the domain for continuous improvement
Technical Challenge: Proactively challenge technical assumptions and planning with relevant functions to optimize efficiency
End-to-End Integration: Manage the complete integration of testing activities for designated Work Packages (WPs), including efficient use of common integration benches, to support developmental testing
Visibility & Interface: Ensure transparency to Heads of Groups (HoGs), Heads of Departments (HoDs), DPL, and key stakeholders. Maintain strong interfaces with Domain Program Leaders, other WPLs/LWPLs, Programs, Flight Test, Design offices, MAP, and Customer Support
Requirements:
Deep knowledge of A/C Development and V&V lifecycle
Solid Program Management experience, particularly Risk Management and technical scope control
Value-focused, empathetic, trust-building mindset across matrixed teams
Proven ability to challenge the status quo and drive improvement independently
