Job Description

We are looking for a Safety professional looking to take the next step in their career who is committed to developing a people centric safety culture. Able to promote safety and build manager competencies and accountabilities to drive improve safety outcomes and continuous safety improvement across the business.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with leaders and teams to bring our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) system into everyday work
  • Help leaders and managers build their skills to lead safety within their business and within their team, encourage responsibility, and improve safety results
  • Support and build competency in operational leaders to implement our Safety Management System and deliver a positive safety culture to ensure strong workplace safety standards in day-to-day activities
  • Support leadership teams in delivering effective incident responses, including corrective action identification and investigations. Provide technical support for serious or complex incidents
  • Work with management teams to develop and enhance their skills in incident investigation techniques to deliver thorough, accurate, and effective outcomes. Maintain and monitor Investigation Register
  • Lead the collation, analysis, and reporting of safety data from multiple sources to inform leadership and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the Group WHS Team to create clear and engaging safety messages, like Safety Shares and tailored toolbox talks, following our Safety Communications Calendar
  • Collaborate with the Group WHS Team to create and implement safety engagement activities in line with our Safety Communications Calendar e.g. Safety Week
  • Follow and promote company policies and procedures, including our Code of Conduct, and ensure ongoing compliance with workplace safety laws.

Requirements

  • Qualification in workplace health and safety or a related area
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a People leader
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with experience in risk assessments
  • Ability to influence decisions and achieve practical solutions
  • Experience rolling out safety systems and Safety Culture forward programs across multiple locations
  • Skilled in managing incident responses, reporting, and investigations
  • Proven ability to work well with a variety of people inside and outside the company.
