In your role as a Works Coordinator at Victoria Mill, you will play a key leadership role in driving safety, productivity and quality across your area of the mill. You will coordinate and supervise maintenance and capital works while leading a team of both tradespeople and non-trades employees to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes. Working closely with the Engineering team, you will help plan and deliver maintenance strategies, manage resources and contractors, and ensure work is completed on time, within budget and to the required standards. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential as you build positive working relationships, support your team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the mill. A key upcoming project for this role will be supporting the installation of a new flyash plant, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to a significant operational development at Victoria Mill. Job Responsibility:
Plan, prioritise and oversee daily maintenance activities to keep mill operations running safely and efficiently
Provide leadership and direction to a mixed team of trades and non-trades personnel, supporting performance, development and teamwork
Coordinate contractors, specialist services and internal resources to deliver maintenance and capital works
Monitor job progress, budgets and timelines to ensure work is completed to required standards and operational needs
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support major projects, including the installation of a new flyash plant
Requirements:
Trade qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience
Strong customer service and communication skills, with proficiency in SAP maintenance systems
Minimum 3 years’ maintenance and reliability experience in a heavy industrial environment
Demonstrated ability to manage reliability systems and processes
High level technical competence relevant to the role
Nice to have:
Experience in the sugar industry
Proficient in MS Project
Working knowledge and application of Workplace Health & Safety Acts, Regulations, and Codes of Practice
Working knowledge of Sugar Industry Act (SIA) and Sugar Industry Code of Practice
