Job Description:

We’re Tiro, a leading provider of science and technology apprenticeships. We’ve got big ambitions and we’re looking for a Coach to join our team to support learners through their Level 3 Polymer Processing Technician apprenticeship. In this role, you’ll be helping to develop the next generation of Polymer Processing Technicians, supporting apprentices who will be the backbone of tomorrow’s manufacturing industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Helping to develop the next generation of Polymer Processing Technicians
  • Tenaciously drive learners’ progress, keeping them on track to complete their training programme
  • Combining industry expertise and technical knowledge of polymer materials and processing, with coaching and mentoring skills
  • Help learners embed their workplace experiences and build confidence operating real-world manufacturing equipment
  • Deliver apprenticeship programme covering modules including Health & Safety, Polymer science, Process operations and maintenance, Quality procedures, Problem-solving, Environmental management
  • Visit apprentices in their workplaces
  • Be a strong relationship builder, working closely with learners, employers, and workplace mentors

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in polymer processing, plastics production, injection/blow moulding, extrusion, or similar
  • Confident discussing process control, materials behaviour, equipment calibration, and production efficiency
  • Enjoy working independently, managing your own schedule, and building relationships across diverse workplaces
  • Thrive on seeing others succeed
  • Be a self-starter who loves collaboration, thrives in a pacey environment, and embraces challenges head-on
  • Bring technical credibility, empathy, and enthusiasm
  • Experience across the full production lifecycle, from plant start-up and process optimisation through to maintenance and shutdown
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
