Wine Waiter

• Present and serve wines to guests in accordance with restaurant standards, including decanting and wine pouring techniques
• Assist guests in selecting wines that complement their meals, offering informed and thoughtful suggestions based on their preferences and the menu
• Monitor and manage wine inventory, including restocking wine cellars and updating wine lists as needed
• Ensure that wines are properly stored, presented, and served at the correct temperature
• Build rapport with guests, providing a welcoming and knowledgeable presence to enhance their dining experience
• Promote and upsell wines to increase sales and enhance the overall dining experience
• Work closely with the kitchen and serving staff to coordinate the timing of wine service with meal courses
• Stay updated on wine trends, new arrivals, and industry developments. Share knowledge with team members and participate in ongoing training

• Previous experience as a wine waiter or in a similar role is required
• Strong knowledge of wines and wine service is essential
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Certification from a recognized wine education program (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers) is a plus
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional service
• Ability to stand for long periods and carry wine bottles and trays
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and serving staff
• Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Genuine interest and enthusiasm for wines and the ability to convey this passion to guests

Certification from a recognized wine education program (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers) is a plus
