As a Wine Waiter, you will enhance our guests’ dining experience by providing expert wine service and recommendations. Your knowledge of wines, excellent customer service skills, and attention to detail will help create a memorable and enjoyable atmosphere for our patrons.
Job Responsibility:
Present and serve wines to guests in accordance with restaurant standards, including decanting and wine pouring techniques
Assist guests in selecting wines that complement their meals, offering informed and thoughtful suggestions based on their preferences and the menu
Monitor and manage wine inventory, including restocking wine cellars and updating wine lists as needed
Ensure that wines are properly stored, presented, and served at the correct temperature
Build rapport with guests, providing a welcoming and knowledgeable presence to enhance their dining experience
Promote and upsell wines to increase sales and enhance the overall dining experience
Work closely with the kitchen and serving staff to coordinate the timing of wine service with meal courses
Stay updated on wine trends, new arrivals, and industry developments. Share knowledge with team members and participate in ongoing training
Requirements:
Previous experience as a wine waiter or in a similar role is required
Strong knowledge of wines and wine service is essential
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Certification from a recognized wine education program (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers) is a plus
High level of attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional service
Ability to stand for long periods and carry wine bottles and trays
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and serving staff
Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Genuine interest and enthusiasm for wines and the ability to convey this passion to guests
Nice to have:
Certification from a recognized wine education program (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers) is a plus
