Job Description:

Servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines covering turbines at the Knockduff Windfarm. Carrying out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities ensuing wind turbines continue to achieve a high level of availability. Responsible for Wind Turbine availability, which means physically troubleshooting turbines not performing to capacity on various wind farms, as well as analysing data and other information to be able to create and support implementing action plans that will increase performance in the fleet.

Job Responsibility:

  • On site performance analysis and action plan implementation
  • Working closely with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on the job demonstrations
  • Supporting on site single turbine improvements on problem turbines
  • Providing on site software & hardware updates
  • Supporting on-line and on phone technical support
  • Creating reports on turbine or turbine components
  • Parameter disabling and alarm change handling when necessary

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in the Mechanical / Electrical industry
  • Knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams
  • Mechanical or Electrical trained through time-served or a technical college qualification at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Ability to identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions
  • Ability to adapt to an environment of continuous change and different challenges
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, lead and continuously improve
  • Computer literate and confident in using MS office packages, in house databases and workload management systems
  • Fit and healthy and able to pass a working at height test
  • Willing to travel on an occasional basis which includes nights away from home
  • Full UK / EU Driving Licence
