Job Description:

Entry-level position responsible for on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at wind-energy generation site. Tasks include completing Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Tail Board, and documentation for wind turbine maintenance safety. Conduct inspections of equipment, tools, and facilities for compliance with safety guidelines and environmental regulations.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and associated wind plant equipment including substation and tower switchgear
look for improvement opportunities to job-appropriate processes and procedures
identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment
demonstrate and promote integrity, strong initiative, and teamwork
comply with all pertinent environmental health and safety programs
work with and respond to EDPR's Remote Operations Control Center
complete all required training
participate in on-the-job training
document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
technical school education preferred
strong mechanical background, specifically gearing-related
1-2 years relevant experience in wind energy or related industry (preferred)
understanding of Microsoft products and complementing products
experience with power plant operations and maintenance, wind plant operations and turbines (preferred)
familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (preferred)
proficient knowledge of SQL Server software, facility management, reporting systems (preferred)
willingness and ability to pass background investigation and drug test
valid driver's license with safe driving record
ability to climb turbine towers in excess of 100 meters
weight between 125 lbs. and 275 lbs.

Nice to have:

Technical school education
wind energy or related industry experience
experience with power plant operations and maintenance
experience with wind plant operations and turbines
experience with high voltage switching
experience with post-operational repair and maintenance of turbines
familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment
familiarity with heavy equipment for facility maintenance
knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
proficient knowledge of SQL Server software, facility management, reporting systems
