Job Description

Reporting to the Wind Site Lead, the Wind Intern is responsible for assisting in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable wind turbine operation. This position will be located at Broken Bow Wind Farm.

Job Responsibility

  • Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices, and maintain a safe working environment
  • Assist in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance
  • Document all work performed, parts used, and time spent
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair, Annual Maintenance cycle, oil changes, and Main Component Exchanges
  • Maintain hand tools in good working order and well organized
  • Willingness to progress as a technician and take guidance from superiors

Requirements

  • Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet
  • Able to work safely in a confined space
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Possess demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge
  • Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color coded wires
  • Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use various hand tools

Nice to have

Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams is preferred
