This position is responsible for leading a major correctives team consisting of Major Component Exchange Operators and Major Component Exchange Specialists. The position will be focused coordinating and safely executing major correctives across the Enel Green Power Wind Fleet utilizing Enel owned Liftra LT1200 and LT1000 self-hoisting cranes. This position will work with both internal tools and manpower as well as coordinating third party vendors to assist us with work. The position will serve as one of the certified operators of either a Liftra LT1200, Liftra LT1000 self-hoisting crane or both if needed.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the job lead for the execution of major component replacements completed with internal self-hoisting crane resources
Maintain all necessary trainings and qualifications to be a certified operator the Liftra self-hoisting crane assigned and to safely perform work related tasks in a quality matter
Safely execute major component replacements and repairs using, in most case but not all jobs, a self-hoisting Liftra crane
Serve as an operator for the execution of major component replacements completed with internal self-hoisting crane resources
To serve as a certified NCCCO signal caller when completing conventional crane major corrective replacements
To have or be able to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) in order to be able to transport the Liftra self-hoisting crane between job sites as needed
Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA’s, and job specific documentation that is required to conduct maintenance and repairs in the safest manner possible
Perform data collection and prepare reports in order to meet reporting requirements, for daily, weekly and monthly reporting
Working knowledge of self-hoisting Liftra cranes and rigging requirements, Certification will be provided after hiring process is completed
Proactively look for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures
Properly maintain tools and equipment used to perform assigned maintenance assignments and keep proper inspection records of this
Act as a safety role model, encourage and recognize others completing safe acts and intervene when unsafe acts are being practiced
Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment, weather working at a site or with the MCE team
Demonstrate and promote integrity, strong initiative, and a no-compromise focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis
Coordinate third party vendors on the execution of major component replacements or repairs, and Ensure all safety requirements are met and the work is executed at the highest level of safety
Requirements:
5+ years of relevant work experience in wind energy or B.S. Degree (electrical or technical) and at least 1+ year’s related experience and/or training
2+ years’ experience with either a Liftra LT1200 and/or LT1000 self-hoisting crane systems
The applicant shall hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or be able to obtain one within 12 months of the hire on date
Strong attention to detail
Ability to use electrical test equipment such as, DMM, meggers and multi process calibration equipment
Strong knowledge in electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, facility management and reporting systems, and computerized diagnostic and troubleshooting tools
Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, hydraulic torque equipment, alignment tools, and various hand and power tools) and with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance including working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
Experience with Wind Farm operations and maintenance, both Service & MCE maintenance
Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work around low- and medium-voltage equipment
Ability and willingness to travel up to 85% of time to other operational sites within the US (and maybe Canada) as needed
Ability and willingness to respond to site emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as needed
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Ability to climb turbine towers 100+ meters in height approximately 5-20 times per week, or as needed
Comfortable working at heights of 300 feet or more in confined spaces and the ability to perform essential physical functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
The work requires climber pass a physical fitness and climb test upon hiring
Ability to work long hours in a wind turbine without the need to come down often
