The Clark County Combined Health District seeks a Certifying Health Professional 2 to work on our WIC team.
Job Responsibility:
Assists with certification/recertification of WIC participants
prescribes appropriate food packages in a clinical setting
Provides nutrition counseling to WIC participants individually and/or in in-group sessions regarding normal nutritional needs including breastfeeding
establishes individual nutrition goals
completes necessary documentation in the medical record
makes referrals to resources, programs, and physicians as needed
Identifies the need for individual nutrition care plans
If RD/RDN, implements individual nutrition care plans or high-risk participants and assists Nutrition and Breastfeeding Supervisor in reviews of high-risk participants' individual nutrition care plans when developed by non-RD/RDN certifying health professionals to make recommendations as needed
Compiles statistics and data needed to complete monthly reports and other reports required by the Ohio WIC Program
When necessary, assists in obtaining medical data (heights, weights, and hematocrits) needed for certification/recertification
Helps develop nutrition education materials, newsletters, outreach information, etc.
Sets up and operates visual aids
does food demonstrations
distributes farm market vouchers, etc. as assigned
Provides breastfeeding education and support
Attends state and local WIC meetings as required
Reports upon directive in an emergency
Conduct other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Registered Dietitian (RD/LD)
Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physician Assistant (PA)
or a minimum of one (1) year experience as a Certifying Health Professional 1 (DTR or ADN/RN) demonstrating strong clinical judgment and the ability to independently fulfill the responsibilities of the role
