Job Description

3Shape are creating a new role in R&D for an experienced Wi-Fi specialist to help ensure reliable, high-performance wireless connectivity for our scanner systems. You will work in R&D and work closely with colleagues across R&D, Customer Care, IT, Production, and Wi-Fi hardware vendors. In doing so, you will turn user and Wi-Fi requirements into stable, validated setups that work in real customer environments. This new role focuses on Wi-Fi performance, stability, troubleshooting, verification, validation in both internal development test environments and at customers.

Job Responsibility

  • Debug Wi‑Fi performance, stability, and connectivity issues across Windows and Linux environments
  • Define, validate, and maintain robust Wi‑Fi configurations, including embedded modules, adapters, drivers, access points, and scanner connectivity setups
  • Develop and maintain a Wi‑Fi test lab and validation framework used to ensure reliable scanner connectivity
  • Improve tools, methods, and processes for diagnosing and troubleshooting Wi‑Fi issues
  • Act as 3Shape’s Wi‑Fi specialist across R&D, Production, Customer Care, and customers by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting support, documentation, and training

Requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, IT or similar
  • Good knowledge of Wi-Fi technical standards, performance parameters, stability considerations, and practical implementation details
  • Basic understanding of Wi-Fi regulatory standards
  • Hands-on expertise with enterprise and consumer-grade Wi-Fi setups, including access points, network management, and security
  • Strong ability to debug Wi-Fi setups in Windows and preferably also Linux environments
  • Experience with Wi-Fi modules, antennas, adapters, drivers, and access points
  • Basic programming skills sufficient to work with module drivers, diagnostics, and scanner-related code to improve Wi-Fi performance and reliability
  • Understanding of network infrastructure, wireless security, and practical troubleshooting tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical teams, support functions, production, and external vendors
  • Pragmatic mindset with focus on stable solutions, measurable improvements, and real-world usability
