Job Description:

Lead safety across Retail, DC and Support Office operations at JD Sports ANZ. Drive WHS strategy, wellbeing and compliance in a fast-paced, high-growth retail environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Partner with senior leaders across Retail, DC and Support Office on all WHS matters
  • Drive the implementation of the ANZ WHS strategy aligned to legislative requirements and JD standards
  • Coach and influence leaders to build accountability and embed a strong safety culture
  • Conduct and support risk assessments, audits and inspections across multiple sites
  • Manage hazard, incident and risk registers, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of trends
  • Act as the key liaison with regulators including WorkSafe NZ and support notifiable incident management
  • Ensure compliance with Australian & New Zealand WHS legislation and internal policies
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Support rehabilitation and return to work programs in partnership with the People team and external providers
  • Drive wellbeing initiatives focused on mental health, fatigue management and injury prevention
  • Coordinate WHS training programs including inductions, manual handling, toolbox talks and incident response
  • Support Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs) and safety committees across the network
  • Build capability across leadership and store teams through coaching and practical guidance
  • Prepare WHS reporting, dashboards and insights for ANZ leadership and global reporting requirements
  • Analyse lead and lag indicators to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement across WHS systems, processes and operational practices
  • Coordinate and manage communication with external RTW provider

Requirements:

  • 2–3+ years’ experience leading WHS programs within Retail, Distribution or similarly fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Australian & New Zealand WHS legislation
  • Proven experience implementing and embedding WHS systems across multi-site operations
  • Strong capability in risk assessment, incident investigation and corrective action management
  • Experience influencing and coaching leaders to drive WHS accountability and engagement
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility across all levels of the business
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
