Amentum is seeking a WHE Supervisor in Andros Island, Bahamas to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC). AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) supporting Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training, and is Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Division Newport's largest single team project, providing support for both deep and shallow water test and training environments.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for performing and documenting electrical/mechanical maintenance, inspections, load testing of weight handling equipment (WHE), material handling equipment (MHE) and ordnance handling equipment (OHE) on the AUTEC Project per NAVFAC P-307, NAVSEA OP-5, NSTM Ch-589 requirements
Maintain control of inspection records, manage the material deficiency reports and ensures all are recorded per NAVFAC, NAVSEA and NAVAIR requirements
Primary contributor to the WHE crane observation program
Maintain Shop Repair Order system and ensure satisfactory maintenance and repair schedules
Mechanical and electrical inspections of Cat 1, Cat 3 (non-cab overhead), various OHE, MHE and rigging equipment to NAVFAC P-307 standards
Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections of Marine Weight Handling Equipment per NSTM Ch-589
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in the operation, inspection, or repair of cranes and associated equipment
Minimum five (5) years supervisor or managerial experience
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and use manlifts
Pass drug and alcohol screenings as well as DOT medical examinations
Obtain CDL and assist with transportation and handling of ordnance
Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities
Valid passport and Driver’s licensed without recent major violations required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
