Amentum is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Wetlands Environmental Compliance Technician to support environmental compliance activities associated with industrial and facility operations in the Hillsboro area. This role is responsible for monitoring wetlands, stormwater systems, erosion controls, and environmental protection programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting environmental field operations, conducting inspections, maintaining compliance documentation, and working in highly regulated industrial environments. Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing campuses, semiconductor facilities, or industrial infrastructure projects is highly preferred. This is a hands-on field role requiring strong observation skills, technical reporting abilities, and a proactive approach to environmental stewardship.
Job Responsibility
Conduct routine wetlands and stormwater inspections across operational and construction areas
Monitor erosion and sediment control measures to ensure environmental compliance
Support compliance with EPA, DEQ, Clean Water Act, and local environmental regulations
Perform environmental sampling, field observations, and data collection activities
Maintain accurate inspection logs, environmental reports, and compliance documentation
Identify potential environmental risks and escalate issues to leadership as needed
Assist with spill prevention, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), and corrective actions
Coordinate with operations, construction teams, contractors, and environmental leadership
Support site audits, regulatory inspections, and environmental assessments
Participate in environmental training and safety initiatives
Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and environmental standards
Requirements
3 plus years of relevant experience. Years of experience can be substituted by formal training/education/certifications
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to read maps, site plans, and environmental documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
Nice to have
Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, construction, or semiconductor environments
1–3 years of environmental compliance, wetlands monitoring, stormwater, or field inspection experience preferred
Associate degree or coursework in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or related field preferred
Knowledge of Oregon DEQ environmental requirements
