As a Welsh-Speaking Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, maintain positive classroom behaviour, support pupils’ learning, communicate confidently in Welsh, follow safeguarding procedures, and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
Maintain positive classroom behaviour and a focused learning environment
Support pupils’ learning and engagement across a range of subjects
Communicate confidently in Welsh within Welsh-medium and bilingual settings
Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
Requirements:
Fluent Welsh language skills (essential)
Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
Strong classroom presence and confidence managing groups
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to register
Nice to have:
Experience within Welsh-medium education
A proactive and adaptable approach to classroom support
Interest in progressing into teacher training or a PGCE
