This is an exciting opportunity to join the team for an enthusiastic, committed Wellbeing Officer who shares our ethos and vision. You will be able to inspire, enthuse, engage, motivate and challenge students to raise achievement at all levels due to our culture of high performance and expectations of both staff and students. The right candidate will have a high bar of expectation whilst maintaining a caring and personable exterior for students. This role is a key part of our school in ensuring student wellbeing, safety and success are all intertwined in our work.
Job Responsibility:
Provide pastoral support to a designated year group
Supervise classes in the absence of a class teacher ensuring purposeful learning
Support students in class when not supervising a lesson to aid effective learning
Invigilate school and public examinations and tests
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children you teach or come into contact with
Supervise a class of pupils when the timetabled member of the teaching staff is absent
Liaise with appropriate staff such as Learning Zone Leaders and Curriculum Leaders
Keep accurate attendance records of students in supervised lessons
Provide students with clear information and instructions relating to the work to be completed
Help students with the organisation of the work set and the materials and resources provided
Ensure good order and the safety of the students being supervised including an orderly start and finish to the lesson
Return work completed in lessons and information such as class register, textbooks, and equipment to the appropriate teacher
Implement the Academy’s Behaviour Policy including the issuing of rewards and sanctions
Provide break-time cover for the supervision duties of absent teachers
Provide support to students, including those with special educational needs and English as a second language
Attend meetings and training including the Academy’s Training Days
Help to escort students on educational visits and to participate in extra-curricular activities
Complete routine administrative tasks such as mailing, photocopying & filing
Assist and support in curriculum areas as requested
Supervise after school and door duties
Maybe required to assist during lunchtime
Requirements:
Ability to speak fluent spoken English
High bar of expectation whilst maintaining a caring and personable exterior for students
Share the ethos and vision
Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks
Willingness to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours which flow from the Oasis Community Learning ethos
