Job Description

Your focus as Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator will be to provide a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the residents' physical, psychological, and social well-being and to understand the need to promote the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment for all residents.

Job Responsibility

  • Identifying the life history, needs, and preferences of residents by listening to them and their families to support the development of a detailed life story
  • Planning and submitting to the Home Manager- a monthly activity and wellbeing plan and a weekly overview
  • Arranging activities, events, and outings, encouraging the involvement of staff, relatives, and visitors
  • Maintaining a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home

Requirements

  • Previously worked with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting
  • Experience organising activities and events
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • A positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events

  • Ensure that daily records of participation in events or activities, and the outcomes for residents are recorded on electronic care notes
  • Ensure that residents are offered one-to-one meaningful engagement if they are unable or unwilling to join group events
  • Actively seek and record feedback and suggestions from residents and relatives about the events and lifestyle opportunities available in the home
  • Demonstrate that the feedback received from residents and relatives is used to inform the planning of the monthly events calendar
