We have a fantastic position available for a Welfare Benefits Administrator in which you will work with a highly motivated team providing benefit maximisation support to vulnerable people based in the Liverpool and Sefton area. You will join us in New Start’s head office, based in L13, on a Permanent Contract working full time, 37.5 hours. New Start is a family-run, not-for-profit organisation, providing residential and supported accommodation services for vulnerable adults, families, and young people. You will be based within the Welfare Benefits Team, working across all New Start’s services to provide first contact support around welfare benefits, liaising on behalf of residents with the DWP and local council.
Job Responsibility:
Maximise the income of service users, providing advice and practical assistance to support individuals pursuing claims for benefits
Assist New Start residents to complete applications for all relevant welfare benefits and housing benefit
Provide ongoing support to ensure housing benefit claims and welfare benefit claims are maintained
Work as part of a team providing quality accommodation and support services for vulnerable adults and young people within a safe and secure environment
Requirements:
A-level standard qualifications, with GCSE in English and Maths grade C or above
Awareness around the benefit provision currently available to UK residents
Ability to use Microsoft office
Ability to accurately record information within resident's files
Highly empathetic individual able to support people with mental health challenges, trauma, substance abuse and a range of other issues, in a non-judgemental manner
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Graduate degree is desirable
Ability to work without supervision
