We're looking for a skilled TIG welder to join our clients manufacturing team. This is a hands on role producing high quality components for demanding industries such as process, petrochemical, energy, marine, and general industrial applications.
Job Responsibility
TIG welding stainless steel and specialist alloys
Working on thermowells, temperature sensors, and related assemblies
Working from engineering drawings, weld symbols, route cards, and production paperwork
Prepping components - cleaning, dressing, aligning, and fitting up ready to weld
Producing clean, accurate welds consistently to a high standard
Checking own work visually and catching any issues before parts move on
Looking after equipment and keeping area tidy and safe
Coordinating with machining, assembly, inspection, and production to keep jobs moving and hit delivery dates
Requirements
Solid TIG welding experience, ideally on stainless steel
Comfortable welding small precision parts as well as larger fabricated assemblies
Able to read technical drawings and follow job documentation
Good grasp of weld prep, cleanliness, distortion control, and finishing
Sharp eye for detail and happy working to tight tolerances
Someone who takes pride in their work and can crack on independently or as part of a small team
Nice to have
Experience with thermowells, sensor pockets, fittings, flanges, or pressure components
Background in precision or specialist engineering manufacturing
Coded welding experience or current certifications
ASME qualifications or familiarity with Section IX procedures
Hands on with materials like 316 stainless, Inconel, Duplex, or other high-performance alloys
Additional skills such as fabrication, grinding, polishing, brazing, assembly
Awareness of NDT, pressure testing, or customer inspection processes
