As a Grade 3 Fabricator/Welder at Caterpillar, you'll have the chance to collaborate with and contribute to a team of experienced Fabricator/Welders, enhancing your skills and building your career. In this role you will perform basic fabrication/welding tasks. This is your chance to work with a global leader and make a real impact.

Job Responsibility

  • Weld, fabricate, and tack components and sub-assemblies of generator sets
  • Operate manual and automatic MIG welding machines
  • Repair and rework production parts
  • Compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Interprets prints, plan methods and sequence of work
  • Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives
  • Uphold Caterpillar's Values in Action
  • Any other appropriate duties

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Fabrication/Welding or minimum 12 months experience
  • Able to understand and follow detailed verbal instructions and perform basic maths
  • Ability to conduct the physical aspects of the position, including tasks performed at height
  • Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns

Nice to have

  • Experience in lean manufacturing
  • Ability to use slinging equipment and cranes to move materials
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and squares to ensure work accuracy and compliance with specifications
  • Attention to detail to meet quality standards
  • Ability to prioritise and organise sequence of work
