Job Description:

The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for welding and fitting structural steel components according to specifications, blueprints, and quality standards. This role requires CWB certification, proficiency in FCAW and GMAW welding, and the ability to read and interpret drawings. The Welder/Fitter will play a key role in ensuring high-quality fabrication, supporting efficient shop operations, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Weld and fit structural steel assemblies according to drawings and specifications
  • Prepare parts for structural assemblies using various metal processing equipment
  • Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies using appropriate measuring tools
  • Operate shop cranes and forklifts to move materials safely
  • Perform daily inspections on welding equipment, cranes, and tools as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company policies
  • Support other shop operations and perform additional duties as directed by the department manager
  • Manage portals, naming conventions, and packaging

  • Support subcontractor outreach during the tender process and assist with bid-related communication
  • Participate in post-submission reviews and debriefs to improve future proposal quality and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of steel welding and/or fitting experience
  • Current CWB FCAW and GMAW Flat ticket required
  • Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Possess own layout tools and welding gear
  • Forklift certification considered an asset
  • Overhead crane certification considered an asset
  • Ability to operate standard shop equipment (grinders, band saws, OAC torches, ironworker, drill presses, etc.)
  • Physically fit and able to handle materials and equipment as required
  • Strong adherence to all health and safety regulations
  • Able to perform tasks independently under general direction and in a team environment
  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace

  • Oversee the national approach for safety and security in support of BAU operations, with direct, on-the-ground support to major and strategic local productions
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and training to foster a strong safety culture and ensure employee and patron well-being
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records for audits and reporting
  • Provide emergency response coordination for incidents affecting Fever workspaces and events
  • Coordinate and work with internal stakeholders (Fever’s Global Safety and Security Team, event producers, project managers), external stakeholders (vendors, venues) and incident responders (local authorities and law enforcement) in accordance with incident and crises protocols and plans
  • Deliver training, raise awareness, ensuring clear escalation prior to and during crises and other incidents
  • Ensure compliance with relevant local regulations including OSHA, ADA, and state/local requirements, applying best practices for safe, accessible workspaces and events
  • Conduct incident investigations and ensure corrective actions and lessons learned are implemented
  • Deliver on-site support, safety briefings, and crisis communication, including during irregular hours or travel across event locations
