Job Responsibility:

  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding applying proper welding techniques
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together
  • Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding
  • Set up equipment and welds parts, using arc welding equipment
  • May assemble parts by bolting
  • May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press and other hand tools
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a welder, preferably on a construction site
  • Must be capable of passing a welding certification test which includes SMAW and FCAW processes
  • Must be able to read and comprehend welding instructions
  • Must be familiar with blueprints and/or structural drawings
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Must have all required welding tools necessary to perform the above-listed duties
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds frequently on the job and able to climb more than 300 feet
  • Must be able to pull own weight when climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding up to 150 feet
  • Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, a loud and dusty work environment, and able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields
  • Candidates must show the capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and consistently uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
