Job Description

The Weighbridge Operative plays a vital role in supporting logistics and site operations, particularly during out-of-hours periods. This position involves managing driver, staff, visitor, and haulier inductions, issuing one-time passcodes for site security, and supporting goods inward processes for raw materials. The role requires overseeing key control for fuel and stores, providing phone support during busy periods, and managing depot IT issues to ensure trucks are loaded efficiently. Key responsibilities include managing the bulk loading head process by monitoring loading head availability and vehicle distribution, handling height restrictions for over-height vehicles, and manually managing vehicles carrying residues or non-cementitious materials. Additional duties include conducting transport safety checks on hauliers, monthly PPE checks with drivers, coordinating drug and alcohol call outs, and supporting logistics with contractor compliance and site tidiness. The role involves sorting and filing proof of delivery documents, managing banned drivers, scanning access cards, and adopting manual ticketing during system outages. The operative is responsible for managing PPE, cleaning products, vehicle spares, and out-of-hours office cleaning. They control site traffic flow for bulk and packed vehicles, including marshalling vehicles and reviewing CCTV footage.
