Job Description:

The Lifeguard is responsible for promoting and maintaining safe conditions in the pool deck environment. They must maintain constant supervision and communication with all staff.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintains attentive position in the pool areas at all times by walking, sitting and observing activity poolside
  • Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents or casualties, makes rescues and administers first aid/CPR when necessary
  • Provides assistance to students and teachers as needed
  • Acts as a substitute swim instructor when necessary
  • Inspects pool areas before and after each 30-minute lesson, looking for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues and reports problems to management as appropriate
  • Participates in training/in-service as required
  • Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer

Requirements:

  • Lifeguard, CPR/AED certification
  • Experience working as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor, camp counselor and/or childcare provider
