Job Description:

Our client seeks a reliable and experienced Weekend Housekeeper/Cook to join their household team. The Weekend Housekeeper will work within an established team structure, reporting to the House Manager and communicating clearly with the weekday housekeeping staff and the principal’s PAs to ensure the smooth running of the home across the full seven-day week. The primary goal is to work with the natural rhythm of the household at the weekend – keeping all areas tidy and presentable, caring for the dogs, and ensuring the home runs as seamlessly on Saturday and Sunday as it does during the week.

Job Responsibility:

  • Feed the dogs and walk the dogs
  • Tidy the kitchen and prepare breakfast and lunch for the family
  • Turn over all bedrooms – making beds, tidying surfaces, refreshing water, and returning items to their correct places where possible
  • Collect dirty laundry and take it to the laundry room
  • sort clothing and put away any clean items that are ready
  • Tidy all common areas throughout the house, including returning coats and personal items to their designated storage
  • Put away grocery deliveries when they arrive, as requested
  • Maintain all household organisational systems established by the weekday team
  • Do not water plants unless specifically requested to do so
  • Complete any additional tasks listed by the House Manager or principals, including running local errands
  • Ensuring the house is calm, tidy and presentable at all times

Requirements:

  • Experienced in a similar role within a private household setting
  • Basic cooking skills and the ability to prepare simple, nutritious meals
  • Comfortable with dogs and confident in their care, including walking, feeding, and administering medication if required
  • Naturally tidy and organised, with a strong instinct for presentation and order
  • A clear and proactive communicator, able to liaise effectively with the House Manager, weekday staff, and PAs
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed
  • Respectful of household systems and routines, maintaining rather than reorganising what the weekday team has established
  • Discreet and professional at all times, particularly when the principals or their guests are in residence
