Job Description:

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is looking for a Weddings & Special Events Manager who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our Event Managers have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction.

Job Responsibility:

  • Book, sell, plan and execute weddings, wedding room blocks and social events while assuring the highest level of customer service
  • Generate revenue, establish new accounts, monitor booking spaces, book repeat business while keeping quality consistently high, conduct catering sales presentations and catering sales calls
  • Negotiate with clients through creative and attractive menu presentations and event proposals, to achieve maximum revenue/profit potential and fulfillment of contractual responsibilities while satisfying client needs
  • Coordinate with the Sales Department and Catering to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues
  • Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through upselling and ensuring effective written communication (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports, etc.) and personal contact with all departments for the event's success
  • Maintain an active trace/follow-up system. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event
  • Supervise the execution of banquet events. Review all function space with banquet managers, event captains, and other event execution leaders. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events
  • Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Morning Operations Briefing, Morning CS Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting Pre-Convention Meetings, Bi-Monthly Board of Operations, Planning Visits, and Menu Tastings
  • Comply with Four Seasons standards for catering and conference services, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee
  • Make timely and impromptu decisions, which balance client’s needs with the financial, safety and staffing goals of the hotel
  • Find solutions to the inevitable challenges that arise while clients are on property. Keep the Director of Special Events and Planning Committee promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate

Requirements:

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
  • Ability to accurately read and work with computer systems
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • College education or equivalent experience
  • Ideal candidates will have catering management or catering sales related experience with Four Seasons or another related organization for at least 2 years
  • Must have a passion for mentoring and developing others and be able to build and foster a team environment
  • Must have a solid track record in achieving financial results in a high-volume environment
  • Must be extremely guest oriented with the highest degree of honesty and integrity
