Job Description

Our client, a prominent financial institution, is looking for a qualified Web Editor to join their team for a 12-week assignment. In this dynamic contract opportunity, you will be instrumental in ensuring our online content is not only accurate and engaging but also fully optimized for search, accessibility, and regulatory compliance, directly impacting our customer experience and brand reputation.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain and update website content, design elements, and overall structure
  • Ensure web pages are consistently accurate, engaging, and current
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical errors, broken links, formatting issues, and bugs
  • Conduct thorough testing of website updates and new features before deployment, ensuring full functionality and compliance
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies on strategic website redesigns and enhancements
  • Document all website updates, enhancements, fixes, and release dates in a comprehensive change log
  • Implement and maintain SEO best practices to maximize content visibility and performance
  • Monitor and enhance ADA accessibility performance, ensuring adherence to WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance
  • Guarantee all content aligns with brand standards, usability principles, and accessibility guidelines
  • Support the migration of email content to a new marketing communications platform
  • Rigorously review, edit, and QA migrated email templates and content for accuracy, formatting, and brand consistency
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for the successful testing and deployment of migrated email communications
  • Work closely with writers, designers, developers, marketing teams, and agency partners
  • Effectively manage multiple content updates and priorities, consistently meeting project deadlines.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in a web editing, digital editing, or content specialist role
  • Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Kentico, or similar platforms)
  • Exceptional editing, proofreading, and quality assurance skills for digital content
  • Solid working knowledge of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG)
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring site health, troubleshooting technical issues, and testing web updates
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to work effectively as an independent contractor.

Nice to have

  • Experience managing content for large, complex, or regulated digital platforms
