Job Description

We're seeking a versatile Web Developer to lead a full website redesign and support ongoing digital initiatives. This role combines visual design, front-end development, and CMS management, with additional responsibilities supporting intranet portals and ongoing site maintenance.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead redesign of the organization’s public website with a modern, responsive, accessible UI
  • Create templates, themes, and UI components within a CMS (Cascade CMS preferred but not required)
  • Produce wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and final design assets
  • Maintain and update site structure, navigation, and content
  • Build and manage templates, components, and branding standards across digital properties
  • Support discussions around CMS modernization or migration
  • Develop and enhance internal portals using SharePoint or similar platforms
  • Build custom pages, components, and basic workflows
  • Maintain directories and other administrative web components
  • Collaborate with marketing, IT, and internal teams to gather requirements and deliver user-friendly solutions
  • Ensure accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, and security best practices
  • Provide troubleshooting and continuous enhancements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in web design and front-end development
  • Hands-on experience building templates/themes in a CMS (Cascade CMS, WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
  • Experience with SharePoint (modern pages, templates, intranet components)
  • Strong skills in: HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript
  • Strong skills in: Responsive frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc.)
  • Strong skills in: Accessibility, UX/UI best practices
  • Familiarity with Git and general web performance/security fundamentals
  • Strong communication and requirements-gathering abilities
  • Portfolio demonstrating web designs, CMS builds, and front-end work

Nice to have

  • Experience specifically with Cascade CMS
  • Familiarity with higher-ed or enterprise websites
  • Basic knowledge of PHP, .NET, or other backend languages (nice to have)
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud or Figma
