Our Digital Products and Software team builds connected experiences that support homeowners, dealers, technicians, and internal operations across the Residential platform. The Connected Portal (CP) provides web-based experiences used for operational workflows, dealer-facing processes, and platform visibility. This role is a strong fit for an early-career engineer who wants to grow in modern web application development while learning how web experiences connect to APIs, identity systems, and cloud-hosted services. This role is remote in the US. Must be a permanent US resident, no sponsorship available. We are seeking a Software Engineer I, Web / Full Stack to join the Residential Software team and help build features for the Connected Portal. This role will focus on frontend-heavy delivery while also building familiarity with backend integrations, testing, and cloud-connected application workflows. The engineer in this role will contribute to feature implementation, bug fixing, testing, and release-readiness work under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
Job Responsibility:
Build and maintain web application features using React and TypeScript
Contribute to responsive, intuitive user experiences for portal and workflow-driven use cases
Integrate frontend features with backend APIs, identity flows, and platform services
Help investigate issues, reproduce bugs, validate fixes, and improve product quality
Participate in testing, code reviews, CI/CD workflows, and team engineering practices
Work closely with product, QA, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Learn and apply best practices for secure API use, maintainable UI design, and modern web development
Support issue investigation and team collaboration during U.S. business hours
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Hard Science (Physical, Life, or Applied Science)
3+ years of software engineering experience, including 1+ years building and shipping production Android and iOS mobile applications
2+ years of hands-on experience with React Native and TypeScript
1+ years of experience integrating Android and iOS mobile applications with GraphQL or REST APIs
Nice to have:
Hands-on experience with React, modern frontend development, or web application project work
Understanding of basic API integration concepts for web applications
Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a fast-moving engineering environment
Ability to collaborate effectively during U.S. Eastern Time business hours
Exposure to React and TypeScript in production, internship, or project settings
Exposure to Node.js, backend integration patterns, or full-stack application development
Familiarity with testing tools, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD concepts
Interest in portal, workflow, B2B, or operational web applications
Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, or responsive UI development
Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, Kiro, or similar tools to improve developer productivity and code quality
Exposure to authentication and role-based application behavior
