Reporting to the Head of Advice and Wealth Governance, the Wealth Advice and Governance Senior Business Manager will directly support and deputise for the Head of Wealth Advice and Governance in the achievement of Wealth Management Europe’s (WME) goals & objectives. You will ensure business adherence to corporate & regulatory requirements, through optimised risk governance and informed navigation of the RBC Brewin Dolphin and Wealth Management risk landscape. The role involves line management of the Advice and Wealth Governance team, and you will be required to lead and ensure effective management by developing and maintaining a high performance, fast paced, solution focused team with deliverables produced to a high standard, consistently meeting set deadlines to deliver.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the activities and productivity of the Wealth Advice and Governance team within the 1st line of defence
Collaborate with interdepartmental managers to understand and address current and emerging issues and risks that require focus and attention
Deputise for the Head of Advice and Wealth Governance on operational matters and in strategic projects and committees
Improve functional productivity, efficiency, and overall performance of the team
Enhance management reporting to deliver insights to determine root causes of issues, create tactical and strategic solutions in partnership with the client facing teams and corporate functions to improve processes/controls and update systems to improve client outcomes
Active participation and ownership of business projects, providing constructive challenge and solutions
Track and manage engagements with strategic vendor relationships
Develop strategy and business plans and monitoring focus for Wealth Governance to support the groups long-term strategy and shorter-term strategic initiative
Requirements:
Wealth Management Experience: Previous experience within a wealth management firm ideally within a Governance or Risk role and proven experience of influencing and engaging with executive level leadership
End-to-End Business Process Understanding: Knowledge of end-to-end business processes and the technological impact on relevant areas
Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date understanding of the regulatory environment and challenges affecting wealth management
Team Leadership Experience: Proven experience assisting with managing and growing a team of professionals, including team leads, and direct experience deputising for a senior leader or head of department in operational or strategic matters
Strategic and Operational Skills: Ability to analyse data, create presentations, and lead strategic change programs
Risk Governance Expertise: Strong understanding of risk governance and compliance within wealth management

Change Management Experience: Experience working in a business undergoing significant change is highly favourable
