Job Description:

Responsible for managing the operation of, and infrastructures related to, the Chatham Bars Inn Waterfront and Beach.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment and ensure that all safety equipment is functional and inspected as necessary
  • Train and supervise beach attendants, pool attendants and waterfront porters
  • Ensure the staff understands what is expected of them and that they have the proper tools to do their jobs successfully
  • Perform all staff duties including, but not limited to, renting cabanas, setting beach umbrellas & chairs, towel service, end of day clean up and reset
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day
  • Resolve guest issues promptly
  • Control access to the private beach to ensure hotel guest use only
  • Maintain a professional appearance & friendly attitude towards guests, other employees and management staff
  • Adhere to and practice the Chatham Bars Inn Service Standards at all times

Requirements:

  • Current certification in CPR & First Aid
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be an energetic and personable leader
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and well under pressure
  • Able to multi-task in a busy environment, one where interruptions are expected
  • Superior problem solving abilities
  • Ability bend, crouch, stoop, climb, twist and lift and move up to 60 lbs
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be flexible with schedule and work weekends and holidays
  • Intermediate computer skills required as department involved three operating software programs
